Staying alive in Dying light. 91/99 games from my gaming challenge.

My #gamingchallenge has been in halt, and by that i mean that i have played little too much of my latest game on this challenge.

This game is made by Techland, and it is zombie adventure named Dying light.

What is Dying light ?

If you have been played Techland's previous zombie games, Dead island and Dead island: Riptide.

You know pretty much what kind of game this is. For anyone else, here is little summary.

City of Harran is quarantined city, because the zombie outbreak. You are agent for GRE (Global Relief Effort) who is send to the city to retrieve stolen data from Salif "Rais" Suliman who is blackmailing GRE.

After you parachute to the city, you are attacked by Suliman henchman's. You are attacked by zombies and being rescued by runners from sanctuary called the Tower.

First you need to help people from tower and try to get your way to Suliman and retrieve the stolen data.

About the game

First i must talk about the games biggest new feature, and it is parkour. Running on buildings wall's and roof's is this game biggest new feature. Techland is consulted by man behind parkour David Belle. 

Parkour is done quite good way and i personally spend lot of time by parkouring and avoiding zombies in this game.

You gain survival points and this is the way your character will leveled up and gain abilities. You can choose your abilities and there is some variety for what you can choose from. 




Game fighting is done mainly using melee weapons. There is also some guns, but finding ammo is always a hard (at least in 1/2 of the game) You can customise your melee weapons and they effect how much they can do damage and what kind of special features they have.

You can add fire and electricity to your weapons and also craft some items from firecrackers to throwing stars.



Fighting against single enemy is easily, but it there are more than three you die a lot if you try directly attack them. You die easily on this game.


But after you levelled up and get better weapons, attacking your enemies will get easier. But you always need to think ahead and trying to avoid is still good way to survive.

But when you die on your mission, you spawn to nearest spawn location, nut  enemies that you have killed in mission area will be dead when you try again. This goes also for bigger special zombies as they don't regenerate their health.

Multiplayer CO-OP

Game has online co-op mode, where you can join another user session or host your own. Game will connect people who are about the same place on story missions. You can also join for your friend's game even they are in different place on plot.

This is a best way to play this game. There is also some multiplayer only competitions with another players like who get to the checkpoint fastest, or kill most enemies.

There is also "Be the zombie" mode, and this is games PvP mode. But i haven't played it and you can choose to not allow this on your multiplayer sessions and also disable competitions.

Final words

Dying light is solid A-grade game in zombie games genre. Parkour is this game one strong point's as new feature. It captures fun of jumping and climbing on buildings.

Many times you need to thinks ahead about how to proceed to your goals. Do you try to avoid attacking your enemies, try to scorch them or kill them one by one.

Game is best played with your friends. Dying light will get new expansion called The following as part of season pass or you can buy it individuality.
